Ballad of Salomon Pavey, The
The compelling story of two rival groups of boy actors at court during the reign of the Virgin Queen, Elizabeth I. Salomon Pavey, an outstanding young actor with a flair for playing the parts of old men, unwittingly becomes involved in the politics of the Royal Court with tragic results - a victim not only of his enemies, but also of his success. A ballad opera that uses popular music of the period, capturing beautifully the spirit of the Elizabethan age.

Bendigo Boswell
A young cockney girl, Anna Harris, visits a fortune-teller and is told that her future holds great mystery. An adventure then unfolds of a gipsy family (the Boswells) who travel to Kent to pick hops. There they meet with prejudice from the local people and Bendigo's friendship with Anna, who is there with her family, causes friction between the two clans. The Boswells' practical skills eventually win the respect of their neighbours when they cure an adder bite inflicted upon Anna's sister. This does not prepare us, however, for the unexpected denouement . . . Would suit secondary schools.
